Want to sell '96 XJ, help me set price?

What a crap year. Must sell the 2004 work van to make the bills (g'bye loan payment), but I must drive something to work...

Since I cant seem to *fix* my Jeep, it must go so I can buy a RUNNING clunker with whatever I get for her. Gotta love the economy these days.

1996 XJ, 2-door, Black
4.0, manual transmission, 4WD
Front lift is replacement springs and lower arms, ~4"
Rear lift is add-a leaf with blocks, again ~4"
5 32" BFG ATs on aftermarket rims (tires are like new, under 300 miles)

It has a 'stumble'/'bog' or whatever you want to call it and it backfires sometimes, too. Not street worthy as it is. Please read the threads at the bottom to really get an idea of the issue it has, I posted here at NAXJA while I tried all the repairs and its pretty well documented.

Engine is a replacement out of a '97, (the old '96 will come with the Jeep). low-ish miles, but actual odo is unknown. When I did the swap it looked nice inside, my mechanic friend said it looked "great in there".

Body is filthy, but sound. No meaningful dents, black paint is oxidizing on the hood, but fine elsewhere. Passenger side floor rotted, cheep and fast floor repair is done, but the Jeep will come with a factory replacement full floor pan for the passenger compartment. (wasn't planning to put it in until I fixed the engine issue)

It has just GADS of new stuff in it; plugs/wires/coil, MANY sensors, fuel pump & pressure regulator, exhaust manifold, clutch - etc etc - see the posted threads for all the gory details.

Please, folks - What's a fair price for this thing?
(It IS fixable, its just beyond my abilities to do it.)

Thanks,
-Drew

I paid 2400 for a 96 last fall - bone stock, the existing issues were:
* brake lines rotted to hell - resulted in $1k worth of sheetmetal and new tools purchased
* gas tank rusted to the point it leaked this spring
* exhaust: nearly gone cat-back
* radiator: shot
* shocks: worthless
* few other things I forget...

Body is in really good shape EXCEPT for floor pans. I might have gotten suckered but I like the vehicle, since yours has some upgrades I'd say 2-3k maybe since it's in ok mechanical shape? You'll probably have to find an offroader to get it due to that and the paint anyways.

You'll probably get $2k for it, so start the price higher. It sounds like your distributor isn't indexed correctly, but I didn't read your threads yet.
