So I'm down in Salt Lake city for a funeral and I'm looking to think about some thing else. Like a trail run of some kind. I've gone to the Utah chapter asking if anyone could show me a trail or hook me up with some good directions. The Utah chapter is a little quiet so I went to a local site and asked the same thing with little results. Well what I'm in need of is if any of you guys have been down here and know any places close to SLC that I could take the wife and kids to. A lookout would be cool or maybe just a little hike. But you all know I want a hard trail to beat on my xj. Any one have any idea's.

Moab o_O

Well little moab is close but moab is a little far right now. I already was in the rig for 19 hours on the way down and I'll need to do that again on the way back. I did just talk to some one that is trying to get out of work to show me around there

Try Rocky Mountain Extreme for a good Utah site. Should be much more of a response from them.

One of the most quietest sites Ive been on. Not one response. It does look like we are going to little moab on wed. I'll post pics on PNW

Sorry to hear the reason for your trip.

We missed you last saturday.

Hopefully this little wheeling will do ya some good.

Hmmm. Well, it's a blessing in disguise...Moab ROCKS!

Check out Area BFE if you have the time, but make sure to run Moab Rim and Pritchett Canyon. You could do both in one day pretty easily. Swing by Moab 4x4 Outpost (they will have guide books for sale, but you probably wouldn't need one), grab a beer at Moab Brewery, and pizza at Zak's.

Thanks guys. As some of you know my brother in law died on friday morning. He has two kids 6 & 8 and my sister who is holding up well. I have worked with electicity for years and so did my brother in law. On friday morning he was installing a fireplace. He was grownded to the fireplace when a 110 volt old wire came out and got him. So this is a sad trip but Doug would have wanted us to have a good visit and so we will. I'll be back on sunday.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Even though you are looking for trails, I don't remember hearing of much withought driving for hours. Isn't Dr. Moab in SLC? PM him?

When I lived in that area and before I had a Jeep:

Drive to Wendover. Interesting drive if you have not made it before and have some time to get away with your wife to hit a Casino. Two hours of Salt Flats and dessert.

Spent alot of Sunday afternoons in the Parks Cruising with friends or spending time with my Ex-GF. We usually went to Sugerhouse park to show the cars off.

Camping took us to Bear Lake and Flaming Gorge. But those are alos a few hour drive.

Have a Safe drive home.
