modifying RE tracbar

I have the RE1660 trac bar with the johnny joint at the top and a rubber bushing on bottom. The trouble is that the lower bushing is used up. Has anyone or would it be possible to cut the lower bushing off and replace it with a tubing adapter and heim? If so what size heim and tubing od/id for the adapter do I need? This rig will only see limited road miles so noise/vibration won't be too big of an issue.Thanks

Why a hiem and not a Johnny Joint? RE uses a Flex Joint.

Just replace the rubber bushing.

Is the rubber bushing called a flex joint? A johnny joint or whatever RE calls them would be fine. Is there a heim/johnny joint that would fit in the existing hole?
