Creaking steering

Ever since I hit a pot hole about a month ago, my Jeep makes a creaking sound when steering. Sounds like an old door opening or closing. Anybody have any experience with this issue, or know what it is? I have a feeling i bent something, but haven't gotten under it yet.

I too have heard the same sound and from my experience the sound was not coming from the steering but the control arms. I had done some trails in Colorado with quite a bit of mud and assumed it had somehow gotten where only grease should be. I greased up the steering and still had the noise. The only thing left were the control arms. After using a pressure washer around the bushings I discovered the sound disappeared. You may want to take a look at your bushings and make sure the bolts are nice and snug.

get a can of silicone spray and spray your steering shaft inside the cab and also outside. That should get rid of it.
