Mounting Roof Rails On

So my cherokee's roof is empty :bawl: I was wondering if anyone has ever mounted roof rails onto an XJ without them. I was going to get a roof rack and do the gutter mounts, but I dont really want a roof rack now, maybe just something like this

Is it possible to do this if I just go to a JY and grab some off one that has em, and bolt em up?
 
yea i vote for gutter mount as well, or look around on CL for a wilderness rack or something :thumbup:
 
Do you have the threaded studs in your roof to mount the rack to? If not then I wouldn't open up that can of worms. I would suggest the gutter mount cross bars from Thule or something like that.
