Q.Why should I join NAXJA? What are the benefits?
A.    This is a relatively common question from perspective members of NAXJA and while many people say that the forums and the information provided is reason enough for joining, we do our best to provide many other benefits of membership. NAXJA is a club first and fore-most and an online discussion site second. We strive to host 4-5 national events every year which all members are welcome to attend. These events are at the largest and best known OHV areas in the US and are typically multi-day events which include a BBQ and raffle. With the effort to establish more local chapters of NAXJA we are providing the members a way to meet with local XJers and participate in their own events outside of the national events.
    When joining you are granted access to the members only forum, the membership news forum, the technical articles area, the forum archives area and you are granted several discounts with vendors. Many of our supporting vendors offer temporary or permanent discounts to our club Members. You will also recieve your membership card and club sticker.
    Joining NAXJA also joins you to the United Four Wheel Drive Assosciation (UFWDA) as $10 of your member dues is used to cover this cost. The club also actively supports TreadLightly, USALL and several other groups promoting the safe and fair sharing of public lands with the interests of OHV use.
Q.How do I join NAXJA?
A.Joining NAXJA is easy! First decide for how long you wish to join, 1 year, 2 years, and be sure you are qualified to join by reviewing the NAXJA By-Laws. Follow These Steps to Submit your Membership Application:

    Q.What will I receive when I join?
    A.When you join NAXJA as a member you will receive all of the benefits listed under “Why should I join NAXJA?” as well as the following with your membership package:
  • Official NAXJA Welcome Letter
  • NAXJA Member Sticker
  • NAXJA Member Card


  • Q.How long will it take for my membership to be processed?
    A.Please see this Announcement for current details: Current Membership Information If paying by check or money order your membership will be processed once your check or money order is cleared and deposited. Your membership package will be prepared and mailed on the Saturday following your payment.

    Q.How will I know when my membership is active?
    A.Once your application and payment have been received you will receive an email from the Membership Director indicating as much. If you have paid using a Money Order, Cashiers Check or via PayPal this email will include the Access information to the Members forum. At that time your information will already be processed and entered into the club roster.

    Q.What will I receive by joining UFWDA as a NAXJA Member?
    A.By joining NAXJA, you will automatically become a member of the United Four Wheel Drive Assosciation (UFWDA). NAXJA will submit your membership information to the UFWDA and at their time discretion they will process it and mail you your membership package which will include a UFWDA Sticker. You will also be added to their mailing list and will begin to receive their newsletter, The United Voice.

    Q.How do I join a chapter?
    A.Contact the Chapter Board of Directors of the chapter you wish to join. There is not assosciated cost of joinging a chapter. The Director for the chapter will acknowledge your membership and will be able to assist you in getting involved in chapter activities.     Q.How do I change my personal information in my membership?
    A.Once your membership has been processed you will then be able to edit your personal information by proceeding to the NAXJA Roster and scrolling down to your your member number. You should see that your and ONLY your membership number is a link. Click on this link and you will be presented with your membership information. You can then update it and click Submit to update the information.

    Q.Who will have access to my personal information? (What is NAXJA’s Privacy Policy?)

    Q.How can I become a Lifetime Member?
    A.Currently there is no way to purchase a Lifetime Membership. NAXJA has offered Lifetime memberships for a certain cost during times of financial hardship for the club. We do not plan to re-instate this unless necessary. There are occasions when a member of the club is given an Honorary Lifetime membership, though this process is only by Unanimous vote of the Board Of Directors.

    Q.How do I know when my membership is going to expire?
    A.Please refer to the Online Roster or your Membership Card for your expiration date. When viewing the Online Roster, you can note that if your expiration date is in red, then your expiration has already past.

    Q.How do I renew my membership?
    A.You may remit your dues for renewal via the same means as a new membership. Personal Check, Money Order, Cashiers Check or via PayPal.

    Q.What will I receive when I renew my membership?
    A.When you renew you will receive a Thank You Letter, and a new Member Card and a new members sticker.

    Q.What happens if my Membership Expires?
    A.If your membership expires you will be able to renew it within 90 days at the standard renewal rate. Should it lapse for more than 90 days you will have to re-join the club at the “New Member” cost. Your previous member # will be retained, though your un-interrupted status (ability to run for office) will be lost.
