Q.
Why should I join NAXJA? What are the benefits?
A.     This is a relatively common question from perspective members of NAXJA and while many people say that the forums and the information provided is reason enough for joining, we do our best to provide many other benefits of membership. NAXJA is a club first and fore-most and an online discussion site second. NAXJA chapters host approximately 10 events every year which all members are welcome to attend. These events are at the largest and best known OHV areas in the US and are typically multi-day events which include a BBQ and raffle. With the effort established of local chapters of NAXJA we are providing the members a way to meet with local XJers and participate in their own events outside of the forums. NAXJA hosts a national event every 5 years to celebrate the anniversary of the introduction of the XJ in 1983. We have had events in 2003, 2008, and 2013. The next one will be in 2018. The event is held in Moab, UT, usually the first week of October. In 2014 we are celebrating the 15th anniversary of NAXJA as a club. NAJXA is hosting a national event in Harlan, KY, July 4th weekend.
    When joining you are granted access to the members only forum, the membership news forum, the technical articles area, the forum archives area and you are granted several discounts with vendors. Many of our supporting vendors offer temporary or permanent discounts to our club Members. You will also receive your membership card and club sticker.
    The club also actively supports BRC and several other groups promoting the safe and fair sharing of public lands with the interests of OHV use. NAXJA as a whole, including the chapters have donated over $10,000 a year to land use each year for the past several years.

Q. How do I join NAXJA?
A. Joining NAXJA is easy! First decide for how long you wish to join, 1 year, 2 years, and be sure you are qualified to join by reviewing the NAXJA By-Laws. Follow These Steps to Submit your Membership Application:

    Q. What will I receive when I join?
    A. When you join NAXJA as a member you will receive all of the benefits listed under “Why should I join NAXJA?” as well as the following with your membership package:
  • Official NAXJA Welcome Letter
  • NAXJA Member Sticker
  • NAXJA Member Card

  • Q. How long will it take for my membership to be processed?
    A. Please see this Announcement for current details: Current Membership Information If paying by check or money order your membership will be processed once your check or money order is cleared and deposited. Your membership package will be prepared as soon as possible following your payment.

    Q. How will I know when my membership is active?
    A. If you pay with Paypal, your membership will be active immediately as long as the funds are available immediately from Paypal. If the funds are held for a certain period of time by Paypal, your membership will be active when Paypal alerts that the funds are paid. If you mail a check, please allow 2 - 4 weeks for your membership to become active. Once paid, you will receive a membership packet in the mail as well.

    Q. How do I join a chapter?
    A. You are automatically a member of the chapter that covers the area in which you live. There is no associated cost of joining a chapter, as long as you are a member in good standing. Please feel free to introduce yourself in the forum for the chapter in which you live. If you have any questions on which chapter you belong to, please check the members forum sticky that has the map that each chapter covers. In certain rare instances (i.e. military related), a member may belong to a chapter in which they don't reside. If this applies, please contact membership.

    Q. How do I change my personal information in my membership?
    A. Send a PM to membership to change any information. This includes, address, email address, and phone number. Please note, that it is important to keep your Paypal information up to date as well. That's how we send membership packets out.

    Q. How can I become a Lifetime Member?
    A. Currently there is no way to purchase a Lifetime Membership. NAXJA has offered Lifetime memberships for a certain cost during times of financial hardship for the club. We do not plan to re-instate this unless necessary. There are occasions when a member of the club is given an Honorary Lifetime membership, though this process is only by Unanimous vote of the Board Of Directors.

    Q. How do I know when my membership is going to expire?
    A. Please refer to the Online Roster or your Membership Card for your expiration date. You can also see online when you expire. To access this feature, one must be logged in, open up their User Control Panel, and select the "Paid Subscriptions" utility.

    Q. How do I renew my membership?
    A. You may remit your dues for renewal via the same means as a new membership. Personal Check, Money Order, Cashiers Check or via PayPal.

    Q. What will I receive when I renew my membership?
    A. When you renew you will receive a Thank You Letter, and a new Member Card and a new members sticker.

    Q. What happens if my Membership Expires?
    A. If your membership expires you will be able to renew it within 90 days at the standard renewal rate. Should it lapse for more than 90 days you will have to re-join the club at the “New Member” cost. Your previous member # will be retained, though your un-interrupted status (ability to run for office) will be lost.
