need a new starter

so i went to start my jeep last night and i got no crank at all
for the past week or two my starter has been sounding kinda weak like it was giving out and im guessing it did
great timing to i move into my new appartment tommorow and my mom moves to ohio the day after time is not on my side right now
does anyone have an extra starter laying around??

I have one here at the house from a '91.

I believe all 242ci/4.0L starters are the same, the difference is whether the solenoid lead attaches with a quick-connect or a ring lug. He may have to convert, but it will get him running.

Indeed, but if he has a 2.8 or 2.5........ Can't assume he's got the 4.0.

i have a 96 and its the 4.0 so im not sure what years are compatible
dude at checkers quoted me like 60 bucks for a remanufactured one and then they will buy the core back for 20 or something
i can get it started but not always, half the time i have to get under the jeep and beat the starter with a wrench a few times
seems to work good for now
