TT LS1 Jeep

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/L...rbo_634320.htm

I was browsing streetfire vids I don't know anything else about it other than the description on the movie. Speaking of TT jeeps has anyone heard of or considered a 2JZGTE swap?

I'm sure that swap has been considered and a 2JZ will bolt up to an AW4 since Toyota uses it too! I would like to see a 2wd Comanche with a 2JZ!

i would kill for a 2jz single xj. i never thought about the tranny thing either, thats a good point. you could even go with the more cost effective 1jzgte.

Re: TT LS1 Jeep

2jzgte are a hell of a motor. Stock bottom ends in those things can handle crazy hp numbers. Big problem with a 2jzgte swap would be emissions. Finding the motor here is more difficult then getting one shipped from japan which has different emissons, but either way you would have to go full ECU to control it. Most guys who build up a 2jzgte are looking for high hp numbers, so IMO the work would not be worth the outcome off road, other than bragging rights I guess.

Re: TT LS1 Jeep

2jz swap would be awsome. But there would be alot of custom driveline parts and wiring harness. Its just easier to through a v8 in and be done with it. Though i would like to see that since they put them motors in everything now miata, s2000, etc. Hell i had n 05 srt4 stg3 kit for 4 years that i sold recently i would like someone to swap that in a jeep. U figure lightweight and lots o power. But mounting it and making driveline parts would suck.

Nice swap.. don't like the side pipes.. nor all the vents and the other crap on the front.

Re: TT LS1 Jeep

ugh - the intercooler up front of the bumper.... ugly as hell and makes it downright dangerous to take it off road.... so whats the point of it being a Jeep Cherokee? Why not put the same engine in a Taurus four door or something?
