Traction bar, not track bar.

Alright, sorry, someone fill me in...what the heck is a traction bar? I figured it was a track bar request also :dunno:.

It is a bar that mounts usually to a crossmember and has two mounting on a bracket that attatches to the axle - usually the side that attaches to a crossmember has shackle and bushing and the other sides have a heim and or bushing... it is triangular in shape and with the shacle is keep the axle down with large loads of torque

I have a couple questions of my own:
Where is the ideal location for the shackle to be mounted? As close to the tcase output as possible, as close to the spring mount as possible, or it doesnt really matter?

Does the length of the shackle matter?

well here is my original thread but that didn't bring many pictures from others in

I was hoping to get some pics of the frameside or crossmember setup..

obviously there is room enough, but HOw to put in a crossmember without getting into the driveshaft area, exhaust area or having it hang way low beneath the frame?

I like timmay's setup but... I'd still like to put it on the passengers side to counteract torque lean

Try switching to a single channel resonator instead of a muffler. You'll have more room to work on the passenger side that way.
