Pre 96 skid on a 98?

Found a gas tank skid for a pre 96 XJ and was wondering if it would fit my 98? What do you have to do to get it on there?

Well, I did this a few months ago. It will fit but you need to cut some material off from the side that is closest to the bumper, like 4-5 inches or so. Also, you need the nutstrip for the driver's side if you dont already have a hitch. It takes a little trimming with an angle grinder but you can make it work. You also may need to space it down with some washers since it might be too close to the tank.

I have a Mopar reciever I'll be installing at the same time. Freakin nut-strip was $38 from Jeep.
