Xj's ever have a cargo cover?

Just curious if they had a cargo cover ever??
my explorer that im selling has one.
it goes from the top o the back seat to the back door to hide everything in the cargo area from lurkers.
my hatchback mustang even had one..
if not maybe ill snag the one out of the x to see if i can make it fit the XJ..
i assume one of the probs would be the spare in the way but im going to ditch the spare and get a mini spare and lay it in the bottom of the cargo area and build a shelf to go over it.. actually im planning on getting a toolbox that will sit up over the spare
 
Yea they had them.
 
I had an 86 with one so I'd say any year but I believe it was an option.
 
My 88 has slots for it but 85 doesnt
 
what they said.

why don't you just get a swing-out tire carrier for the back of the xj? that way you don't sacrafice storage space.

Since i dont have one can i fit an older one in my 2000?
i prefer the roll out one( same as i had in the x)
if its clip on what do you do with it when you have it open throw it somwhere? or does it clip Up out of the way?
 
I'd like to see a 97+ rear cargo cover - sounds interesting... I'd like one but had no idea that they even came with them.

I installed one on my 2000 XJ about a year ago. Since they are not available anymore form the dealership I got mine on Ebay for a good deal. Came with all the hardware to install it. You have to remember that there are two types. One designed for a full spare and one with the compact spare. The full spare one is just shorter in length. Also you have to have the Full size tire cover with the hooks on it to attach the cover. Below is one in agate on my XJ with a full spare.

Too bad I didn't know last week that you wanted one. I think I just tossed mine out like a week ago. It clipped (mounted) behind the backseat and then rolled out to the back hatch where there was a mount on either that held it out. I will check to see if it didn't make it to the dumpster yet.
 
I actually have 1, sitting in my tool box, got it along with a 98 service manual and i think half a tow hook set up, and a ski rack from a cousin when he sold his 98.

Crap you aint that far from me and ive been looking for one for just over a year now for my 90. I have all the brackets but cannot find one in any junkyard or online.

They show up on ebay every so often.
