I am removing the radiator, due to a leak, because the shop that did the replacement bought it from Performance Radiator here in Phoenix and they warranty it for 3 years and it is still in that period. I got everything disconnected except for the lower tranny line. the upper tranny line threaded in but the lower looks like the quick disconnect type. the only problem is there are no ears of any sort to do the quicj disconnecting. Is there a special way to go about disconecting the lower line.

TIA,
Tom

Yes.

OK, well this is a problem. Either the ears are broken off or the clip was not put on. The latter is not really possible because the preassure would have blown it apart. The third possiblity is that it was installed in an alternate way.

If you look at the hose connector, it looks kind of like a square shaped bell. The lip is rolled and is used by the clip to hold the hose connector in place. The solution would be to remove just the lip using ...a ... cutting device! Like a hack saw, yuck. Maybe a pipe or tube cutter.

You will need to either replace the hose or try to use hose clamps to replace the QD. This last option is problematic becuse the hose does not like to stretch over the ribs on the male side of the connector.

Good luck!
