The 91 beater I got has D30 up front and a C8.25 in the rear, with a 3.55 axle ratio. The axle should be strong enough for my needs (towing construction equipment and materials through mud basically), but I will need to regear to 4.88 in order to have enough torque for towing with larger tires.

I have no experience in this part of automotives. What do I need to get, what kind of budget am I looking at, etc? Would it just be easier and cheaper to go with junkyard D44 front and F8.8 rear?

Thanks for any help

Well that sucks. Alright it looks like that 4.56 would give me "near factory" with 35" tires so even though it is less torque than I want it would be adequate (another argument for the F8.8 though). What am I looking at for that?
