Brake Lights Not Working 2000 XJ

The brake lights went out in my 2000 XJ a couple weeks ago. Since then I have checked all the fuses, read a ton of articles on here, and atleast looked at the pedal to see if I could figure out the wiring. Both bulbs were tested and worked and all the fuses checked out fine. THis leaves it to be something in the wiring, but I don't know whether I need to be looking under the steering wheel, or in the back by the brake lights. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The plunger type brake lamp switch is mounted on a bracket attached to the brake pedal support. Test the switch. The switch can be adjusted when necessary.

Inspect the the brake light wires behind the plastic trim panel on the drivers side. Improperly installed trailer light adapters can be a problem.
