Rear hatch removal

NAXJA Member #1146
Is it possible for one person to safely remove the rear hatch? Found a nice straight body at 1/2 off PnP days and have pulled all the doors (what a PITA), but not sure I can safely remove the hatch by myself. Any tricks?

Take a 6' step ladder with you to set the door on after you unhook the gas struts. Unhook the wiring the take the screws out of the hinges.
BTW the PnPs around here don't want anyone to get hurt so they do have someone to help if you ask.

Thanks for the hint. It ended up that someone had bashed in the door release (to break in?) so I didn't try to take it off, but will need to perform this operation in the future.
