My jeep rolled onto it's passenger side. When setting it back up right the leaf springs bottomed out on the bump stop really hard and created a bulge in the rail. There is a small 1/4 inch crack in it now in addition to the dent and bulge. What's the best way to repair this? Can I just have the crack welded up?

beat it flat with a big hammer, weld the crack, grind it smooth, and weld a piece of plate over the whole area that is deformed.

before welding the crack it would be a good idea to drill a small hole at each end of it so it doesn't grow any larger.

buy a new jeep. jk
