This damn thing loves to torment me. Got rid of my trans CEL codes but now I am pulling code p0118 on oriellys code puller and autozones is p0118 and p1898. I know the p0118 code is for the temp sensor. Unsure if it is for the one for the gauge or the one for the ecm. Do these jeeps actually have 2? I can't remember but i think they do. One store says its the one for the gauge the other says its for the ecm. The p1898 I can't figure out or find anything about. Jeeps a 97 xj.

Your PO118 code is the temp sensor in the thermostat housing.The connection could be corroded or the sensor is bad.
The other code,? only # i have that is close would be -Trans in park-

Yeah that's also what I came up with. Another thing mine likes to sometimes is the blower motor won't shut off after I turn the jeep off unless I turn it off at the knob. All fan speeds work
