What gauge sheet metal??

Hey guys, I'm installing new floor pans next week, and some of the rot is creeping up along the trans hump. I'm going to have to cut it out and patch new stuff in. Anybody know what gauge sheet metal I should use? Thanks

I have a scrap piece from rebuilding the passenger side of my last jeep. I throw a mic on it and see what it is, but I want to say 18Gauge.

I used 18 gauge when I did mine. 16 seemed like it would be a little harder to to work with.

i used 18 guage as well, very easy to bend and form, welding it is very easy if you go in short spurts and stuff is very clean. i found welding settings at 20 gauge to work better to weld to the existing floor steel. or set for 18 guage if welding to the crossmembers.

I also think that 18 guage will work well enough.

I took an actual sheet metal gauge to my floor pan and replacements; I measured 20 Gauge.
