dual battery wiring ?'s

I used a Perko switch and some 2/0 welding cable for the longer connections and 2 ga for shorter sections (the grounds). The #1 battery is in the OEM spot, and #2 is behind the passenger seat. The 'common' connection from the switch goes directly to the starter, but I still have the fuse block wired to the #1 battery. So here are my questions: A) should I run the 'common' line from the switch to a junction block, and then seperate lines from the junction to the starter and fuse block, or would it be OK to run two lines from the 'common' point? and B) I have the #2 grounded to the chassis; suitable, or better to run the ground back to the engine block?
Thanks for any ideas.
