fuel cell - stock pump

i just picked up a rci 19 gallon cell and i want to run the stock pump/sending unit. i see the fuel cell rings that kore and genright sell fit 97+, my xj is a 93. Should i just by a 97 setup or cut the mount out of the stock tank and make that a ring? i also have access to a yj pump that i could easily make a ring for.

anybody?

can someone tell me if a 97+ pump assembly has the same ohm range for fuel level as a 93? will it work?
