Hatch and door wiring harnesses problems

A few years ago I noticed that the wiring harness going into the hatch had wires starting to break or short out due to the insulation falling off. I had patched it up with some electrical tape but it's still in bad shape. Now my front doors are starting to do the same thing. Are there any good sources of replacement harnesses that I can swap in, or am I in for hand-rebuilding the harnesses?

I'm reluctant to pull junkyard harnesses as I figure they'll end up doing the same thing sooner rather than later.

New Jeep wire harnesses if you can find any, will cost you hundreds of dollars each. A properly done repair job splicing and soldering in fresh wires should last for almost as long as the original wires.
