How can I make my heat hotter? 97 XJ

Flush the heater core, and make sure the water pump impellers are not rusted away.

Flushing the cooling system is part of cooling system maintenance and should be done in addition to just draining the coolant and filling it back up. Flushing the heater core is part of that.

Save the coolant you have in there now. Get your self a Prestone Flush Kit and follow the instructions.

Thermostat too. If its stuck open the engine will never come up to full temperature. Especially noticeable in the winter.

You flush the heater core by disconnecting the two hoses leading into it and using a hose to run water through it. Water in one and it will come out the other. If its cold out run the engine after doing this to get coolant back in there so it doesn't freeze.

Flushing the heater core will likely be good enough. Remove both heater hoses from the tubes on the front of the engine, and run the garden hose on full blast into each one several times.

True, but you would see low temps on the dashboard temp gauge.

its the 2 hoses going to the firewall on the passengers side of the engine. the only 2 smaller hoses coming off the water pump and thermostat
