transmission swap

I have a 1998 Cherokee with the 4.0L/AW4/NP231 combo, and I was wondering if anyone has swapped an AX-15 to replace the AW4, I realize the AW4 is a stout tranny but I prefer manual trannies... if anyone has done this swap, I'd appreciate any information on how much it cost/difficulty/long-term results or side-affects

It can be done, but you almost need the entire donor vehicle present with all the other misc stuff you'd need to swap. Things like trim pieces, the clutch, xfer case linkage, drive shafts, etc. If you don't have a lot invested in the vehicle in mods then it's often quicker and simpler to sell it and buy what you really want.
