Hi guys,

can someone please help me identify what axle i have on my Jeep.

I have a really hard time to tell if it is Dana 35 or Chrysler 8.25

I was sure it was the Chrysler 8.25, but it does not seem to have the flat bottom which i've seen on other pictures online. However, if it was a Dana 35, wouldn't it have a stamp on the top right side?

My Jeep is:

1995 Cherokee Country
4.0 6-cyl inline
Automatic transmission
Transfer case: NP-242

Looks just like a D35 to me. Another way to ID is to look at the pinion end. The 8.25 has two horns right at the pinion top end.
That, and looks like it has ABS, D35 was used in all XJ's equipped with ABS.

Its a Dana 35C.. C stands for C clip meaning that it has C clips that hold the axle shafts in place. You can see it stamped on the pumpkin in the photo in the upper left hand corner.

The c does not stand for c clip, it stands for custom as they left the Dana factory un finished
