The stock tie rod will never hold up to any kind of trail riding! The factory tie rod is built of thin .060-wall mild steel tubing; it doesn't even take a big rock or large tires to bend that!

Rusty's HD Tie Rod is constructed of 1.50"x0.250-wall DOM tubing; this is almost 5 times thicker than the factory tie rod! The HD Tie Rod comes complete with tie rod ends and even the cotter pins. So go out there and hit the rocks...you will most likely break or bend something else before you hurt this tie rod, well except for maybe scratching the powder coating!

Now you can get even more out of it by replacing the cheap, crack-prone stock header with a Trail Tested Tough Flow Daddy header! These Stainless Steel units are mandrel bent for maximum flow, which results in more power and torque. The laser cut heavy-gauge flanges provide a precision, leak-free fit and the durability needed for hard core trail use.

Finally - a Cherokee flare that gives you the extra 1.25" coverage needed for those oversized tires as well as larger openings! Unlike other aftermarket flares, Rusty's flares give you the abililty to trim from 2.5"-4" of sheet metal to clear larger tires! If you're simply going for style you can install our flares without trimming the fenders but you may see a bit of the fender under the front portion of the flare.

We have two versions now available: Standard and Flex. The Standard Cut-Out Flares are constructed of urethane plastic and finished in a glossy black finish that can be painted to match the rig's color. The Flex Cut-Out Flares are a more flexible urethane that will bend much more than the standard versions. The Flex Flares have a glossy black finish but are NOT paintable. Either style will work on '84-'01 2-door and 4-door Cherokees. A 12" wide tire on a wheel with 4.5" backspacing will be completely covered with these flares.

The Standard Cut-Out Flares do give a little but they are not as pliable as factory flares. They will take a good deal of abuse but if slammed against a rock, they may break. The Flexible Cut-Out Flares are extremely flexible and can withstand heavy abuse.

Our gusset kit for the Dana 30.

The Dana 30 axle under XJs, TJs, and ZJs is considered a lightweight axle, but it is surprisingly strong and can handle a tire and wheel package that is significantly larger than stock as long as the driver goes easy on the skinny pedal. However, larger tires, lower gears, and hardcore trails can stress the axle housing to its limit.

To help keep your Dana 30 up to the task, Rusty's offers the Axle Gusset Kit. This is a 3 piece bracket kit that will reinforce the axle and add strength. Laser-cut from 1/4" thick steel, these gussets are precision formed to follow the contour of the axle and weld into place. The kit includes a brace that reinforces the axle tube, which tends to bend at the differential housing. It also includes lower brackets that reinforce the inner C's, which are known for bending with larger tires and wheels. Considering the price of a replacement axle housing, Rusty's Axle Truss is a small price to pay for a big strength boost!

This Gusset Kit fits non-disconnect Dana 30s only.

Fits Cherokees equipped with the NP242 transfer case only.

The factory transfer case skid plate, if it's even present, really doesn't do much to protect the transfer case. If you do even mild off-roading, you should seriously consider upgrading to Rusty's Transfer Case Skid Plate. Trail Tested Tough, Rusty's XJ skid plate is constructed of 3/16" thick laser-cut steel and mounts to both the t-case crossmember and the unibody for a solid protection. You can run this skid plate with our 1" drop transfer case crossmember, which will allow you to drop the transfer case without losing ANY clearance. A black powder coated finish provides lasting durability and good looks. It comes with all the necessary hardware and complete installation instructions.

We have different versions of our Transfer Case Skid Plate for the 231 and 242 transfer cases. The 242 version is shown here; it has an additional bend in it to match the crossmember and the lower drop of the 242 /247 /249 transfer cases. The 231 version is RA-JS15-XJ.

If you own a Cherokee with 31" or bigger tires, this part is a must! We constantly get calls from customers asking, "How can I repair my Cherokee's unibody frame?" Well, The best thing to do is prevent the problem from ever happening in the first place with a steering box brace. Rusty's Steering Box Brace clamps to the steering box and a tubular support bracket bolts to the passenger side of the frame. Installation is easy with only minor drilling required. The brace comes in a black powder coated finish and includes all the necessary hardware.

This brace is for the 1987 to 2001 4.0L six-cylinder ONLY. It will not fit the four- cylinder engine or the older 2.8L V-6.

The Rusty's 4.5 inch suspension kit comes with everything needed to easily run 32 inch tires. It also gives you the clearance to maneuver through all types of terrain with no tire clearance problems. The addition of Rusty's Cut Out Flares will easily let you clear a set of 33 inch tires! Rusty's has put together a complete package using soft spring rates and shocks valved specifically for each application that will give you superior on-road handling as well as world-class off road capabilities.

Rusty's kit includes 150 lbs coil springs, our 6 leaf spring pack complete with OEM style rubber bushings, grade 8 U-bolts and rear spring degree shims.. This kit comes standard with a set of Rusty's beefy lower control arms and a transfer case drop kit to correct driveline angles. A Rusty's adjustable track bar is also included (no wimpy brackets that cause problems here!) along with a pair of sway bar brackets that lower the front sway bar. Rusty's Hydro shocks round out the package.

To make the most of your suspension's performance, Rusty's also has several optional upgrades available. These include a set of adjustable control arms to correct the wheelbase and caster once the vehicle is lifted, as well as JKS sway bar quick-disconnects. Rusty's has had our Diff Skids for several years, but for the extreme off-roader, or one that just wants the best heavy-duty diff cover the money can buy, Rusty has the solution! These replacement differential covers are heavy-duty from the start! Constructed of 1/4" laser-cut steel that is then CNC formed for a precision fit, these covers can handle anything you throw at them! Once formed, they are set up in a jig and robotically welded to ensure a leak-free seal that will last for the life of the differential and beyond. The cover features a ring that will prevent the fill plug from damage. The HD construction even helps reinforce the differential housing and prevents the casting from deflection under extreme loads. This is the best USA-made differential cover that money can buy! We could call them bulletproof, and they are, but other have already made those claims with cheap imported covers. Needless to say, this is the last differential cover you'll ever buy for your rig.

The new control arms bolt to a new 3/16" thick steel, laser cut crossmember that is surrounded by Rusty's frame reinforcement brackets. The 3/16" laser cut reinforcement brackets are located both on the outside and the inside of the unibody and basically sandwich it, tying the unibody and the new crossmember together as one solid unit. This design distributes the extreme loads from the suspension over a much larger area of the unibody and assures many years of extreme four-wheeling without any structural damage to the unibody. The crossmember's design does not reduce ground clearance and also drops the transfer case relieve driveline angles. Our optional Transfer Case Skid Plate can be easily added for further protection and support.

About Mastercraft Non-Racing Restraints:

4.5: Long arm System for the WJ!!

The WJ Grand Cherokee is becoming very popular these days and is an extremely capable trail vehicle that is also very comfortable. Rusty’s has designed and engineered a long travel suspension kit that bolts on, yet still offers the durability, flex, and articulation of a custom built suspension. People often ask, “Why is a Long Travel Better?” With longer arms locating the front and rear axles, the operating angle of the arms is greatly reduced, and the axles exhibit less "roll" as the suspension moves through its travel cycle. The control arms are more or less parallel with the ground at ride height, which greatly improves the ride and handling of a lifted vehicle while on road and provides the superior articulation needed to be a hero off the pavement!

Rusty's kit bolts on to the unibody with minor drilling. No welding is required or recommended. The front uses radius-style arms and are completely adjustable, both the long lower arm as well as the upper link. The arms utilize a combination of Rusty's Forged Flex Joints at the adjustable end and factory rubber control arm bushings at the axle end. This combination provides excellent strength and flexibility and ensures no noise or vibrations are transmitted to the unibody. Rusty's arms are constructed of heavy-gauge 2" diameter D.O.M. tubing, so go ahead and bash them against rocks and ledges because they can take the abuse and keep right on going!

The front radius-style arms bolt to a completely new crossmember constructed of 1/4" thick steel that has been laser-cut and CNC-formed for a precise fit. The crossmember also features an extended mounting area and is further beffed up by Rusty’s new frame reinforcement. The 1/4" thick reinforcement brackets are located on the outside of the unibody and brackets basically sandwich the unibody's rails, tying the unibody and the new cross member together. This design distributes the suspension loads over a much larger area of the unibody and helps ensure the unibody will not sustain any structural damage no matter how extreme your four-wheeling gets!

The rear lower control arms are also built with heavy-gauge 2" diameter D.O.M. tubing and feature Rusty's Forged Flex Joints for maximum articulation and strength, as well as factory rubber bushings at the opposite end to ensure no vibrations are transmitted to the unibody. The Rusty's rear mounting hanger is constructed of 1/4" thick laser-cut steel and feature our keyed and tabbed bracket technology for a precision fit.

The Rusty’s rear upper link is the absolute best you are going to find in a WJ kit! Constructed of 1.50" x .375-wall DOM tubing, the upper link attaches to the body with two 7/8" heim joints, while a Rusty’s Forged Flex Joint connects to the supplied bolt-on 3/8" thick steel axle mount. Many hours were spent in the development and design of this 3-link assembly to offer strength, durability, and adjustability for great articulation while maintaining precision driveline angles.

Please note that no exhaust modifications are necessary with this kit! Like the rest of Rusty's suspension kits, the WJ Grand Cherokee kit comes complete with Grade 5 & Grade 8 hardware along with installation instructions written with the do-it-yourselfer in mind. To finish it all off, everything comes in a high gloss black powder coating for protection and a great look.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The WJ Grand Cherokee comes with several different styles of driveshafts. Some come with a standard CV (constant velocity) joint at the transfer case and a U-joint at the axle; this is good and if this is what your Jeep has because you don’t have to change anything. Others come with a CV at the transfer case and a Rezeppa type joint at the axle. If the front driveshaft is this style and you are lifting it, you will need to purchase our WJ Driveshaft Conversion part # RD-DS01-UV. There are also some WJ’s with a Rezeppa at both ends of the driveshaft; if your vehicle has this style you will need to buy the Rusty’s Driveshaft Conversion as well as the optional transfer case yoke. All of these driveshaft conversions and parts can be found on Rusty’s Driveline Page.

Rusty's 2.5" Basic Kit is the perfect solution for 99-04 Grand Cherokees with sagged out factory springs or for those vehicle owners looking to take the WJ's performance to the next level!

The 2.5" Basic kit includes replacement front and rear coil springs that were designed using computer modeling and then subjected to extensive real-world testing. Rusty's found that the factory coil spring rates were a little too soft and caused the suspension to wallow and bottom out prematurely when encountering bumps and dips. As a result, the Rusty's coils have spring rates that are 12 lbs heavier than stock. This eliminates the negative factory ride characteristics while providing additional support when the vehicle is fully loaded with people and gear. Rusty's Hydro Performance shocks further improve the ride and handling of these popular vehicles.

We have found that 255-70/R16 tires work great with this lift kit! Perform the simple installation, have the vehicle aligned, and you're back on the road with much more off-road capability!

Is your Cherokee's unibody broken and now the steering box is about to fall off? This frame plate was designed to help do a proper repair on your XJ.

Laser-cut chassis plates are supplied for the inner and outer chassis rail, along with special sleeves that tie both plates together and provide additional support for the steering gear. The chassis plates and sleeves must be welded to the vehicle's chassis, as a bolt-on design could not possibly provide the same level of integrity and fitment. Therefore, the installation does require welding.

Rusty’s XJ Steering Box Brace is a must after this repair if the vehicle doesn't already have one.

Rusty's is always trying to improve upon an already bulletproof part. While Polyurethane motor mounts are legendary for their strength, many daily-driven vehicles may experience engine vibrations using Rusty's polyurethane competition-style motor mounts. So, we sought out a way to build the same strength into a more street-friendly mount. The result is a motor mount that is built of 3/16" laser-cut steel, CNC-formed, and welded in a jig for a precision fit. We then added a tri-fold design to the mount to give it even more strength. The difference is that we use a rubber bushing that absorbs more vibration than poly and is more resistant to heat in certain applications. Best of all, the rubber bushing is replaceable, so if the bushing ever goes bad it can be replaced without replacing the complete mount. Rusty's motor mounts are black powder coated for lasting good looks.

The stock tie rod will never hold up to any kind of trail riding! The factory tie rod is built of thin .060-wall mild steel tubing; it doesn't even take a big rock or large tires to bend that!

Rusty's HD Tie Rod is constructed of 1.50"x0.250-wall DOM tubing; this is almost 5 times thicker than the factory tie rod! The HD Tie Rod comes complete with tie rod ends and even the cotter pins. So go out there and hit the rocks...you will most likely break or bend something else before you hurt this tie rod, well except for maybe scratching the powder coating!

These replacement differential covers are heavy-duty from the start! Constructed of 1/4" laser-cut steel that is then CNC formed for a precision fit, these covers can handle anything you throw at them! Once formed, they are set up in a jig and robotically welded to ensure a leak-free seal that will last for the life of the differential and beyond. The cover features a ring that will prevent the fill plug from damage. The HD construction even helps reinforce the differential housing and prevents the casting from deflection under extreme loads. This is the best USA-made differential cover that money can buy! We could call them bulletproof, and they are, but other have already made those claims with cheap imported covers. Rusty's Jeep XJ-TJ-ZJ Offset Steering System - FREE STABILIZER!

This steering conversion is a variation of our popular RS-SC250-UV Tie Rod Conversion but is designed to address clearance problems between the tie rod and the differnential cover. If you've swapped in a larger axle or have a heavy-duty aftermarket differential cover, this steering conversion is for you! Like the rest of our steering components, we build the system right here in our shop so you can be sure you're buying quality components.

Whether you've swapped in a larger axle or simply added a heavy-duty aftermarket differential cover and are having issues with the steering tie rod making contact with the differential cover, Rusty's Offset Steering Conversion is the solution! Rusty's Offset Steering Conversion is a complete steering system that replaces the factory "Y-design" with a more traditional wheel-to-wheel tie-rod and a drag link. This system also uses special offset tie rod ends that space the tie rod farther away from the differential cover, gaining valuable clearance that is needed on many custom applications. These special tie rod ends are built to Rusty's specifications and are a Rusty's exclusive! This system is also completely bolt-on; no drilling or reaming is required. It is as simple as removing the factory system and bolting the new Rusty's system in its place!

Rusty's tie-rod is constructed of 1.5" solid steel that has been CNC machined, which offers incredible strength and durability. The drag link is constructed of 1.5" x 0.375" DOM tubing. The steering conversion components are e-coated and then powder coated for a clean show-quality look that has exceptional durability. The Rusty's offset tie rod ends s feature the factory taper and diameter to fit the factory knuckles, yet feature the same inner ball and forgings that are seen on 1-ton tie rod ends.
