XJ 1997 4.0 Battery temperature sensor

Turns out, I am missing a BTS (code P1493)
At the junkyard I pulled one out from XJ 2000 diesel, but it doesn't fit,
I think the part i need is 56027332 but I have 56041053, so thought because I have the sensor and the connector from the diesel and the the two wires (colors) seem the same, can I just cut the current connector and attach the one from diesel? or should I get a proper replacement?

If you can, it's best to get a proper replacement. There's the chance that the values for the sensors are different resulting in the plug change.
