Gas pump keeps shutting off

Hi,
'99 cherokee, Lately when I try to fill the cherokee the gas pump shuts off really quickly, today it was clicking off when the tank was only half full.
I do have an evap leak, so all roads I think leads back to the vapor charcoal canister. Am I correct with this notion?
Also, a new canister even aftermarket is quite pricey while on ebay I see used ones for about $32, should I go for new or used?
Thanks

The first thing to check is the gas tank vent tube and the charcoal canister tubes. Make sure they are not twisted or plugged.

Some pumps are more sensitive to splash back. I've found different stations with newer pumps can click off after a few gallons.

Not to say you don't have a issue with the tank vent or canister
