Door locking mechanism?

hey guys I have an 87 2dr... with issues.

I have flopped it a couple times and bent the driver door up... a lot.
I got a replacement from Rich and now have it installed

Took it to a lock guy to switch and or rekey it. When i dropped it off he said that the stud (non-technical term) that the latch catches on should have a roller?

Neither side does... hard to explain but does anyone know if it should? I will check the JY this weekend.

My 2000 had totally different setup no "stud" kind of like a "U bolt type setup

On both my 89's there is no "roller" on the stricker . I have never seen one on an older Cherokee. So I would say he is blowing snoke out his......well you know..lol



I hope he isn't charging you much! Rich and I could do all that when we come to do your doors.....

take a couple pictures of your door lock and the latch pin and we'll tell you if it looks right :thumbup:

I've seen it and the jeep the door came off of. There is no roller on our style doors period.
