is this something i can do myself?? i work for a CATERPILLAR dealer as a Technician.. basically is this something i can do in my garage or am i gonna have to yank the transfer case out to do it?

You should have no problem, I'm a parts/service guy, with backyard experience, but its easier on a hoist. Whick transer case?

If you work on cats you should be able to do this. I do them outside of the jeep.

its more mind of matter its no biggie at all i did it in 2 hours with a tnt full belly skid still installed easy stuff

I'm mechanicaly challenged, and I did it in about 4 hours, new driveshaft and all, with the TC on the Jeep on jackstands. Get a good kit. Tom Wood is a class act. Check out the many threads on this site. You CAN do it! :thumbup:
