Need to swap my 89 D35 Trac local 3:55 gears for a jy unit from a 1990.

Any problems with this swap.

And can I use any year axle D35 with 3:55 gears?

You might have to swap brake components to the replacement axle.

That's right at the split year between "press fit" and "c-clip" axles!
