Hey so my plan is to add on to my upper 1/4 panel armor that I got from little bros fab.
Took measurements today goin to make it out of 1/8 steel and bend it to my xj's body. Anybody wanna help me out and tell me how far the slider tube sticks out from the armor on either JCRs or OR fab's? And what size tube do you guys recommend?

Really looking forward to seeing this. My quarters have taken a bit of a beating. I plan on ordering the same set from LBF. Are you going white or black?

Gonna match and paint to my white body. I got a can from napa mixed but my work has a whole paint matcher/mixer and I'm gonna spray gun it in our booth
Debating whether to bedliner the slider tube. :dunno: I wanna get these made up and put on by the weekend. :)

Gonna use 1.75" .120 wall dom I think

those are sweet. bedliner or just black rattle can so its easier to touch up. I like these and I need to build some.

There's his number he's a real nice guy and does good work.

Anyways bought 2 6"x60" 1/8" flat steel the other day. Was $22. Need to order about 8 ft of dom. Going to cut them to fit and mock it up next weekend

I bought the dom tubing. When I bought my ruff stuff 1 ton steering all for 25% off :))
2 6' x 1.5" x .120 wall
And 1 18" x 1.25 x .120 wall for the supports
I will be going to Tim's hopefully soon to bend this up. I didn't know he has a tube bender until the other weekend Other projects have just got in the way of this one.

One thing I must say I am worried about is when putting the slider on a tree or something the amount of flex and stress put on the hardware. This is 1/8" steel on my 18ga body

Learn to drive! Do NOT use your body as a rock slider...

Thought I'd toss out an update on these.. they've held up tremendously and have saved me a number of taillights and damage. Except for true old sluice on the Rubicon. antenna stabbed me! Haha oh well it's self clearance now

Those turned out great! If I would have made some of those, I might have saved quite a bit more body.
