?airbag light coming on on the way home only?

99 198000 auto

so i only inquire to this as the airbag light only has come on on my way home.

the way to work is warm out, and the way home is rather cold lately. Idk if this could contribute, but it is the only difference thus far when the airbag light occurs. the clock-spring is a newer dorman/with CruiseC, by about 5 months, never an issue until 2 weeks ago. fuses read good by test light. it doesnt occur over any hard bumps in particular if at all. im now at a loss of what to check from what ive researched. kinda odd thus far

Does the speedo and tach also go to zero when this happens?

Disconnect the battery, let the airbag become safe by waiting 15 minutes, and then check the wiring and wire plugs at each component for the airbag system. Don't forget the ground wire connections for the control module.
