Ok so I had a great day wheeling today at the Pine Barrens in Southern, Nj until the drive home. Classic Alternator failure...radio shut off, then all lights start to dim, and when we stop at the stop light the truck just shuts down.
Anyways, I have to bite the bullet and pay the $100 for a new one at Advanced because I am pushed for time and have no junkyards close.
I found that they carried a 117 AMP stock XJ one. And I guess thats fine, But would a 136A 4.0L Grand cherokee (99-04) work???
Im ok with a little grinding, but from what I have read grinding is only needed on the V8 Alternators. And both Alternators are very close in price.
