Well the wagoneer narrow track 44. I was planning on using those, but he used the TJ. Both axles end up at the same size, or within a 1/4" of eachother, just was curious if there were any differences.

look up alloy shafts... most should list the length. you can find the difference, even if it is marginal.

I did the same thing with a d35 with 4.10s and LS, doesn't mean it was a smart thing to do

not really the same comparison. running 33s or 35s on a 44 isnt exactly "not smart". doing what you did though is.

Meh, it got the job done.

More to my point. Match the strength of the front axle to the rear. Mainly tube dia. and wall thickness

I've got 200k on mine and have run it for 15 years. I did trash a pinion due to a pinion nut backing off, but it has been all I have needed here in Colorado.
