Switch panel between your visors mod

Whilst scouring the junkyard today, I found a great idea for a switch pod between the visors.

I found a 2010 Grand Caravan and I took the rear roof mounted temperature control unit. It contours perfectly with the Jeep and is held in by a another loose piece of plastic so there is no need to fasten it to the roof other than put one piece of plastic on the other and then snap the switch panel to it to lock it into place.

When I got home, I had a fairing from my roof rack I am not using so I cut that and manipulated it so that it could screw in the back side where the old heater control panel was attached.

I am very happy with the outcome and cannot wait to get it installed. I am just trying to figure out the best way to cut the square switch holes.

I would post pics but photo bucket says it will take 30 min to download.

Cheers

my switch panel is a hobby box that i dropped a bezel into. which is nice... as your cuts dont have to be perfect. i got the box second hand from a buddy, and just had to enlarge it for an extra switch. fastens to the roof using the mounts for the visors.

I went the hobby box route as well

Here it is in the junkyard parking lot

Here it is after the plastic for panel was made

I hope to finish the rest of the install today.

I bought a ohc from a 2017 Ford Super duty. It has aux switches. I'm going to attempt to install it in my MJ. The aux relay box wasn't available at the time, but if it's cheap enough I may buy one to use with it.
