I went to the auto parts store to use the OBDII scanner and got a Cylinder 3 misfire detected code. Would this be a sign that I may have a cracked header? I got some heat soak while wheeling last weekend if that helps.

Basic info required: year/engine/etc.

Just a guess yours is a late model with the heat soak problem.

There is like a 99% chance its a late model when I used an OBDII scanner too. DUH! :D

97 4.0 AW4 stock engine and drivetrain. You'll have to forgive me I've been awake since 2 this morning! :D

Ok.

A 97 would be a bit early for the heat soak issue, it mostly hits the later years w/o fuel return and with the newer manifolds.

Pull the plugs and post up their condition. I would suspect the intake more than a header.
