after the rain tonight, and getting buckets of water dumped on my head (the drains do NOT flow fast enough) I have had my goddamn fill of that stupid frickin hole in my roof.

so, how bad of a job would it be to drill out all the spot welds and put a new roof on my XJ? anybody ever done this?

Lawn 'Cher did it after his "vertical misorientation" episode. Welds only at front and rear, construction adhesive along the sides. I wasn't there, but we've discussed it and he said it wasn't difficult.

Get the replacement off a base model so you don't have holes from a roof rack.

just remove the sunroof trim, the head liner, get some sheet metal cut to fit the hole. tack weld it in place and paint. Get a head liner from a XJ w/o a sunroof. This would be a "hole" lot easier to do than replace the whole roof. Juice
