Yes...In fact, IIRC, pencils have never contained lead. I'm not sure where the name came from.
Ok....I went and looked it up. They always used graphite, but back in the 1500's when they first started making "pencils" they thought the graphite was a form/type of lead. The name just stuck.
BTW, cool post...Probably not my first choice to try and get some light, but you never know when you might need an idea like that. Most people would never think it was useful to know you can "inflate" a tire with a lighter and starting fluid. :dunno:

Good to know in a pinch. I'll wager it would be a rapid fire starter too.
