Mexico to Canada on dirt.

Cal and I had the idea to go to Mammoth from Socal on as much dirt as possible, someone beat us to it.

I've had the idea for years to go border to border on dirt.

Next year I have a trip planned to go from Idaho to Az in Utah on dirt.

Sounds like an awesome trip!!!
I like the encounter with the Border Patrol and the fighter jets doing a low fly by.
Good stories to tell the grand kids someday.

Ya i would love to do that trip or one like it, lets plan a naxja border to border.

One of the guys with Fourwheeler or 4Wheel & Off-Road built an XJ about 15 years ago and did the "Border 2 Border" build up and trip for the magazine...
He's the (or was) the tech. guy who would answer Q.s on what does what and can I do this... lives in Montana... Someone help jog my memory...

He lives in Missoula, but no longer owns the Cherokee. He's the president of Montana Backroads 4x4 (http://www.montanabackroads.org/). He's also one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.

I bet he know his stuff all those articles... ALL those years... so are you in contact with him ?
I wonder it that article is out there SOMEWHERE or the then print...

I talk to him about once a month or so. I've got a trail ride scheduled Aug 1st/2nd with him. I'll ask him about his trip and that article then and see if he can dig up a copy of it. :thumbup:
