Hey guys,
I was thinking about putting tube doors on my xj but If I do this I loose my speakers because my jeep does not have a rear sound bar? anyone know if I can get a rear sound bar to go in without having to replace the entire headliner?

The soundbars I've seen in XJ's install over the headliner.

The sound bar just mounts under the trim in the ceiling on each side and I think there is a single center screw in the middle for the dome light. All on top or through the headliner. Worst case you would have to fab somthing for the center mount.

on my '98 the rear speakers were in the headliner there was not a seperate sound bar, the speaker "enclosure" was molded into the headliner.

Yeah mine is in the headliner too (99) The aftermarket add-on soundbars go on the outside of the headliner though...

ok so I found my headliner with a molded speaker bar in it, I am going to redo the padding, but after I do this will I need to wire in the speakers all the way to the dash or will there be wires for me to use underneath my already existing headliner??
oh yeah and my new headliner is out of a 98 xj, and I have a 97, will this be a problem

shouldnt be a problem with years and you may have to wire the speakers as if it didnt come from the factory with the speakers it may not have the wiring up there for them but even if it doesnt its an easy run... especially with the headliner out already.

if there are no wires should I just splice the new speaker wires into the speaker wires that go to my doors?

My 97 has one that isn't integrated I think they switched to that in '98.

You why dont you just wire it to the rear hatch speakers? Or just rewire all of the speakers 20 min of work makes a world of difference in sound =].
If anyone else is looking for one theres one on ebay.

depends on the stereo you have... if you are using an after market radio then connect to the rear outputs if you are using a stock radio and there are no rear outputs then you can connect to the fronts.
