RE 5.5" coil question

i posted this same thing in the modified tech chapter but didnt get a whole lot of response maybe one of you guys can help me out

does anybody mind running out to their xj real quick and measuring their 5.5" rubicon express coils so i can compare their compressed height to my current setup(3"rc coil+1.75"spacer) to see how much i will gain because right now my front springs are sagging and the rear is sitting quite a bit higher

Compressed my coils are 18 inches. They are RE 5.5.

my current setup only nets me right around 16"s compressed
on my brothers xj he has 3.5 RE coils and his also measures 16"s so i guess my front is only sitting somewhere around 4-4.5 inches

i have 4.5" RE leafs in the rear with stock shackles and the back sits way higher and the new leafs have been on my jeep almost a year now what do you guys think

should i buy RE4.5 coils and possibly not have enough lift or RE5.5 coils and hope its not to much lift we noticed on my brothers that his front settled down much faster than the rear but i dont want to throw on the 5.5 coils and have a reverse effect and have like 7"s of lift in the front

You'll want to get rid of those stock shackles anyway, aftermarket shackles will end up giving you another 1/2" to 1" lift.

So, if you get the 5.5" coils and put them on and it's just a little taller up front, then do the aftermarket shackles to level it out - plus, the end result will be a rig that rides and flexes better. :thumbup:

If you do the 4.5" coils and it just isn't quite enough lift, you can simply stack a second set of the rubber coil isolators to give you that little extra lift.
