Lifespan LP30+Aussie+35's

So, I know someone else has been down this road...I'm curious about life expectancy of a LP D30 with Aussie Locker on 35's??? I'm not thinking that's a healthy combo?
To boot, I had to pull the front driveshaft Monday night at 10:30pm because of a VERY loose front Ujoint...there was a ton of play in the caps...and they just fell apart when I removed it! Anything to do with the locker/35's?
Thanks for the input:D

Nothing to do with the locker and 35s and everything to do with not keeping an eye on the joints. I have learned that I must keep an eye on the front joints since I am locked in the front. I check on them with at every oil change now. Its hard on the needle bearings and once they go it can turn the caps and it all leads to broken parts :D.

Just run it till it breaks, it might last 3 years like my friends rig, its all on how you drive. Truss it that helps alot.

why truss a LP when swapping in a HP is so much easier?

This, my HP30 is fine, well sorta. All I did was regear, lockrite, SOLID cover, and weld in 297x joints.

It works well in this stuff:

(Till I get stuck)

BTW I run 35 inch KM2's on TR beadlocks, and have been known to peg the rev limiter.

Thanks, that's the experience I'm looking for. And I've got a regeared HP in the backyard. I know the strong cover is helpful at stiffening things up. I was really concerned about the locker and 35's...guess it isn't that bad.:wave1:

What gear ratio are you running? I think that has an effect on it as well.

This happened with a HP30 4.88s, lockrite, RuffStuff cover, and stock shafts (full circle clips and 760xs). I also love the throttle...

I think at least a truss would have helped, and a full-case locker would have as well. The carrier had .020" of runout where the gears broke.
