Problem with Steering wheel

:huh:When I turn the steering wheel the tires turn as they should but the steering wheel itself can be flopped up and down side to side or whatever you want to do with it. Something is definitely not connected but I'm not sure what it is so I thought I could get some help here on the forum.

If your talking a pre-97, sounds like the wonderful GM steering column problem where the 3 bolts behind the turn signal switch loosen...
