1990 wrangler 258 ping problem

90 wrangler with 258-OEM 4.2 and 5 speed.
BRAND new carb, O2 sensor, cap/rotor/plugs. just passed smog test with flying colors. 14.5 AF ratio @900 14.7@ 2400

idles perfect, runs great. temp is fine measured at rad. oem 195 stat.

pings from barely off idle to about 3/4 throttle. 65mph down the freeway its runnin around 1900rpm... pinging steady and moderate...

full throttle=no ping.

running 91 octane, no perf mods, ambient temp in the 90's

You're much more likely to get a decent answer from a Jeep Wrangler forum. Cherokees (XJs) never had the 258 or a carb. Perhaps www.[B]wranglerforum[/B].com
