I took the steerig gear out of my 96 xj the other night. My boy asked to go sit inside the jeep, and before I said anything, he was hollering, "The steering wheel turned, and now it stopped."
So, the steering wheel turned, and I don't know which way. I found this thread that says you don't need to worry about over rotating the clock spring on a pre-97 XJ. Can ayone confirm this? I really, really don't want to start pulling the air bag and steering wheel to center the clock spring.
