Man, a co-worker's son just picked up one of the cleanest XJ's I've ever seen.
'91 Briarwood. 70K miles. Beautiful color combination!
Bought it from the original owner and all I get when I ask how much he paid is a silly cheezy grin....... He got it off Craigslist....... dunno how I missed it......

He's had XJ's before and the last one he had was big and built - but run hard on the trails and beat. Kid says he's gonna build this one for the trails too........ kind of a shame. Dad wishes he'd leave it alone as a DD and get a beater.

That is a nice clean vehicle!
I can not believe it is that clean and that low of mileage for that year?
I don't really remember seeing that color scheme, must be kind of rare?

I agree, he should get a beater to wheel and keep that thing as clean as possible.

Wave a LOT of money in his face and you could probably drive it home. That is one really nice heep, it has an sun roof also.
To me it's amusing, this guy's picture has been up on this forum before. He says he doesn't spend much time on the 'ol interweb, but he's heard of NAXJA. LOL

Funny story........
I went to look at/buy that rig on the forklift Hypoid. It was priced pretty nicely, but I just wasn't feeling it so I didn't buy it. He sold it a couple months back as well as a fairly built TJ he had. Do you work with him? I believe his last name is Goshorn.
His dad is a cop at Jeffco and that's how I got the pics of the Briar.

Do you work with him? Yezzzir!
When he told me he was going to build this one I laughingly told him I'd trade our banged up '90 for it. He got this look on his face like he was deliberating how much cash I'd have to fork over with the trade. I said "kidding" just to spare myself the embarrasment.
DJ might make faces for the wood trim, but this one was so uber clean he'd start drooling if he were next to it. :conceited

I love the woody. I thought about getting the after market stuff to do mine. I don't think I have seen a cleaner interior. Lucky kid, hope he does not trash it.

Lift: Rustys 4.5" coils. Rustys 3.5" leafs with TnT customs 1.5" shackles. TnT customs long arms. TnT customs unibody stiffeners. Bilstein 5150 front and rear.
Tires and wheels: 32x11.5 15R somethings. Im not really a big fan of the BFG All Terrains. So ill have to find something else. American Racing Chamber (teflon ones) wheels.
Axles: Keep the HP30 and put a 30 spline OX locker with 4.10s. Ditch the 35 for a 44 and put a 33 spline OX with 4.10s.
T-Case: Ok maybe not to a T, but close. I dont know if I should keep the 242 or drop in a 231 or a Atlas. I may just stay with the 242 and put a SYE on that.
Engine: Heavy Duty everything. What ever I can upgrade im going to. K&N airfilter.
There will be more to come. But I am being summoned to go have a few drinks. So more to come later......

I wondered if you'd show up here Jesse - Welcome!
We realize it's your XJ and you're gonna do with it what you will and as long as you're enjoying it, that's all that matters.
I saw your previous rigs (damn near bought your old XJ.... :looney:) so I know you already have plenty of knowledge and seat time in both an XJ and TJ...... however you end up building this 'Briar it's bound to be cool.
There's just a handful of us that will just have to grin and bear it if we see you cutting on it or banging it up....... :laugh3:
BTW: The next time you have the chance, smack yer dad across the back of his melon and tell him that was from me...... :D

.........and what is wrong with Rusty's springs? I like their ride and they flex like mad.....my only complaint is once you get them broke in they are more like "2.5 springs :D
If you can afford to pay double the price of $230 for a pair there is this dude on here that runs BIGOFFROAD and get his Flexy leafs!
