Okay,

I have $800 to lift my jeep. tires taken care of. I'm figurin 4.5 RC (rough country) lift.
now i cant decide if i should get a full rear leaf now or get RK or IRO HD track bar/bracket and JKS discos and then upgrade the springs next year when I plan to go to 6.5 inches.

Only reason for 4.5 now is i have a set of 32s cheap and cant spend 1200 on 35' tires.

so,

if you were me,
get the RC lift kit with full leafs and forgo nice discos and a awesome trackbar/bracket,

OR,

Get the RC kit with AAL and get a nice trackbar with HD bracket and nice discos and upgrade my rear leafs when i wear out the 32s.

Next year i want to go to 6.5 , sye, LA upgrade, 35s but i need a smart start.

CHOICES!!!

if it were me, i would spend the money where it counts, your trac bar bracket and stuff like that really take a beating, plus, you can save up some more cash along the way for a full pack later.....im still running aal with full widths and 35s, and i really only have one complaint, and that is the "dead" ride that it feels like i have in the rear.....

I would put the money into the trac bar and discos, since those parts can transfer over into our 6.5 lift.

NICE!@ two support the path i prefer!

Im not just closed to RC lift either just seems to be the best for the price.

really the only long term addition is the front coils. I cant spend over a G for a RE kit that all the arms will be getting replaced next year.

Last time i lifted my comanche I felt what a waste to do the RE then later buy drop brakets where i could have done a LA upgrade for close to the same price.

my other thought was it is harder to go from 4.5 with accesory lift in the rear IE longer shackles or a small blcok. I want to avoid that.
then jsut get the right leafs the first time.

you could just do the iro long arm kit with aal, until you have the coin for rear leaf packs, then you wouldnt have to do arms next year...

point taken. just wait a little longer....

If i had patience i could just get the whole LA kit. Guessi should give em a ring and see what they can do.

DANG YOU BG!

they need pricing for a 4.5 la kit on their site!!

I bet it is close to my budget a little over.

yep, i cant say 100% on the front, because mine is homebrew with skyjacker 3" coils, so, you will really have to get advice from someone with an off the shelf kit to be more accurate....but i really dont see a problem with an aal ntil you can afford full packs.....hell ive run mine for almost 2 years with no real complaints

If it were me I would keep an eye on the for sale section here, azvirtualjeepclub.com, Craigslist, Ebay, etc. and buy the parts used for cheap and piece together the lift yourself. No sense spending all the money on a new lift when you can get better parts used.

I would buy the good lift now, and find someone dumping their 4.5" coils and swap them out until you get your 35's

otherwise you're just wasting money, if you plan on changing it all next year.

I was just going to use pucks with the 4.5 coils for the front and get the full leaf pack in the rear when i do the swap.

6 half dozen one or the other....

oh oh oh pick me i know the answer!!! :D Since you plan to ditch the lift and go long arm in a year and waste the money. . . . save up for a little longer and go all the way with this http://www.redrock4x4.com/shop/products/3784.html it has discos, 3 linked long arm, hd track bar, free shipping, needs only shocks, all you need to go higher is a longer shackle and a BB puck up front. It will get you exactly what you are looking for and will cost less in the long run. With good fender chopping and bump stops 35's fit easy style. Both my heeps run bastard packs my one on 35's has been bastard pack for 1 1/2 years

RK 3 link up front
RE coils (new or used)
RE leafs (new or used)
Rancho 5k shocks
RK or RE track bar and bracket if over 3.5 inches of lift.. I run a stock track bar because i'm only at 3.5 inches of lift.
Trim to fit..
Done!

Nice will do.

So consensus is do the LA now at 4.5. Thats prolly best and that is what i told myself originally but I want this jeep up a few inches NOW!

Yea just save up for LA billy....dont waste your time like i did with the MJ...it started at 3"-->4.5"-->now done at 6.5" (roughly)...i plan on going LA on it too but i cant beat the ride it has now w/the drop brackets...it rides really smooth since i switched out the shocks =)
