Garmin Mapsource or an APP that can use .gpx files?

Anyone know where I can get Garmin's Mapsource software for cheap (hint hint) or an equivalent for free that uses .gpx files?

I looked on the net and ouch $60-$100 bucks for Mapsouce is making it "ouchware"! Looking for alternatives.

Yes the Garmin Legend, not at Bass Pro shops though, did not come with any software to create track logs and shite. I can download map files in .gpx but I need something to access the file and transfer to the Legend.

Just seeing if someone knows where to get some good freeware to use the .gpx files with.

it should have come with a mapsource or trip and waypoint CD I transfer .gpx file to my garmin all the time....

also you can grab the gpx files for most of the Colorado trails on traildamage.com and a few other places.

I got a DVD with is showing me how to use the device (video), couldn't find any executable files on it to install, other than the video files. When I registered I created an account I figure there would be something to download from GARMIN nothing other than updates. (guess I didn't spend enough to get the software for free.)

I kind of did the trick thing listed off of another sight but there is limitations to the software...............Thanks for the links Sting I will check it out!
