temp sensor question

So my motor in my heep finaly died.... (94 xj 2.5) I got a great deal on a low miles 97 2.5 (350.00) I've allready got the motor in but I'm a little stumped on what to do with the guage temp sensor, as the 97 head doesent have the port for the sensor, and theres no way i can drill and tap the sensor on the thermostat housing because of fan clearance issues. ahhhhh what do I do?

Sounds like they made the same change on the 150ci as they did on the 242ci.

Check the location for the temperature sensor on the newer head - chances are, the boss is still there and they didn't drill & tap it. You can do so, just make sure your drill doesn't "walk" once you set it running (1/8" NPT, IIRC.)

Alternatively, it's probably just your short block that was shot - throw the earlier head onto the later block.

Either way, problem solved!
