Me and Shrek were at Pull-a-Part the other day. I was looking for a York A\C compressor. As we were looking at the different vehicle we came by a late 70"s Dodge 15 passanger church van. The hood was open and this was mounted to the top of the engine.

It is self oiling. Does anyne know anything about it (CFM, etc.)? Would it make a good compressor for on board air or do I need to take it back and get a York? Here are some other Pics.

Instead of modding a york to use why not just use the stock comp? Hook up lines, oiler, tank and pressure valve and good to go for on board air.

you will need a on/off pressure switch, new belt, some kind of bracket to mount it to ur engine, some kind of oil catching system, filter for the compressor, and get rid of the double v drive pulley and change to the style used on the xj. other than that, it should work just fine. yorks are popular just because they are compact and put out a decent cfm.

No need for oil catch system. It's self oiling like a york. i would like to know how to check for CFM output

Hate to burst you bubble, but for those who keep calling that huge thing a york, it isn't one... lol

Here is a york:

Also, like any other A/C compressor, you will need an oil catcher. I know it is self oiling, so are Yorks, but they all pump the oil that they use. Period. Thats just the nature of an A/C compressor. Im unsure of the CFM/Pressure ratings of that, but it should work just fine. However, I have a York and love it, seriously. You guys that have never had OBA don't know what you are missing. I (and everyone else) use it all the time. Its like having a repair shop on wheels. One final word, I would probably stick with a York or the stock compressor. Simply due to the size. You will have a hard time fitting that thing in any midsized engine bay.
